Bahasa And English: History In The Making
I am Indonesian.
I speak in Bahasa Indonesia.
I live in Indonesia.
Here as you can see, I always (try to) write in English. Maybe some of you are wondering, why this Koko Wahyu should write in English. Most of my friends had the same thing on their mind when they were visiting me here. Even me, do not know the exact reason yet.
My further question: is it a pride for being Indonesian? Have to answer it.
Actually, my English is not that good, either spoken or written. I would like to boost my English by sharing my thought regularly to you all. Now I am here in my own space with no grammatical boundary to restrict me. It is just my effort to be a bit better.
Now I’m working on a company that uses English most of the time. This is a bad and good condition. It’s bad that I still don’t have English fluency yet for time being. It’s good that I am being forced to use English in most of our activities, which will be very helpful later in progress.
In honest, most of Indonesians understand English, even maybe not in each word. By writing in English, I have chance to share about me and little more about Indonesia in global scale. It gives me chance to contact and interact with them. Maybe I will make more friends from various countries and cultures across the continents.
As Mas Fatih Syuhud said, blogging is history in the making. The difference of blogging in English is you are making a history in front of many faces and backgrounds. It will add a lot to our credibility.
I am very proud to have Bahasa as my mother tongue.
Ayas yo kadit bakal lali lek ayas iki kera Ngalam saklawase.
Salam satu jiwa.
